Development is still active, and the coming months will see a re-synchronization of development changes and fixes (as well as portions of the distribution that did not make it out in the last releases), with the publicly accessible source code repository.
As described in this paper, the GUI interface to the Sunflower Simulator provides facilities for splitting up your simulations of networks of processing elements over multiple hosts—indeed, the GUI was implemented specifically to enable this.

The Mac OS X GUI version of the simulator was recently listed on Apple’s software download page for Unix and Open Source applications available for Mac OS, a link to which is built into every Mac. Not surprisingly, there were almost a hundred downloads of the packaged GUI in the first few days. Not bad for an academic research tool.
